Energy Efficiency and HF Welding
- Wednesday, April 12, 2023 11AM ET
- Metals/Materials
- Webcast
High frequency (HF) welding is a type of electric resistance solid state welding in which metal strip edges are heated – using high frequency power (kW) applied through an induction coil – and then forged together to create a longitudinal seam weld. HF welding relies on precise weld heat input to weld advanced steel chemistries and emerging ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The focus of this webinar is to provide an understanding of energy efficiency in HF induction welding.

Mobile Metal Analysis for Incoming & Outgoing Material Verification
- Thursday, March 30, 2023 2PM ET
- Metals/Materials
- Webcast
When working with metal or metal alloys it is critical to know that it is the right one. The correct elemental composition needs to be ensured in order to meet the expectations of your customers, your production process, or to check what your supplier has delivered. For welding and fabricating it is critical that you know the materials you are working with are what you need them to be and that they are accurate in their composition. Imported metals over recent years have come along with certain surprises. Outside testing isn’t the only way to avoid making metal mistakes. Mobile metal analyzers offer excellent on-the-spot solutions for a wide variety of incoming and outgoing metal inspection tasks — accurate, easy and affordable. This webinar will discuss mobile metal analyzers that are fast and easy to use to verify you are always using the correct material for the job.

Universal Robots - Gaining Productivity and Profits with Cobot Welding
- Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2 pm ET
- Laser Welding
- Webcast
Manufacturing requires skilled trades for growth, and in Canada our next big challenge lies with welding and welders. Our last generation of welders is leaving the workforce, and we are failing to produce enough skilled welders to keep up with demand. A viable alternative is collaborative automation, or “cobots” which can handle the dirty, dangerous, boring tasks, including monotonous welding operations. The result is high-quality, consistent automated welds with significantly less ergonomic stress on the human workers.
